Rachel and Thomas wedding day at Ashton Creek Vineyard is one that I will tell stories about for years! When the weather in Richmond called for 100% chance of rain, all of us vendors were preparing for creative ways to bring this couples vision to life! To all of our delight, the morning allowed us a few hours of clear skies to squeeze in their first look and wedding party portraits at the lush vineyard.  Getting to hear so many stories of Rachel and Thomas’s love story and their undeniable connection, I knew that the real purpose of the day was in celebrating the beauty of their relationship. Rain or shine, this couple was set on an outdoor ceremony in the beautiful Virginia scenery! After a stunning sunny morning of portraits when the clouds suddenly rolled in 10 minutes before their ceremony, they embraced the elements and opted to have their full ceremony outdoors getting showered by the heavens.

I’ve never been so excited for a rainy wedding ceremony with the amazing attitudes and perspective from Rachel and Thomas, even the guests huddled together with umbrellas were full of smiles and laughter for this adventurous couple. Their rain filled ceremony photos are some of my favorites and it brought an even more lively dance floor and reception stories after everyone had dried off!
