It’s not very often that I get to photograph stand along portrait sessions! But when college sweethearts, Shurden and John inquired about a reunion photoshoot at their alma mater I just knew we would have so much fun! We started their session at James Madison University’s in Harrisonburg, Virginia. This brought back fond memories from attending yearbook camp in high school more than a decade ago!

With this being my first time exploring the campus as a photographer, I quickly fell in love with the architecture, floral features, and fun intimate pathway. Shurden and John were so easily going and excited to capture this milestone of their relationship at the school where they first met. As the storm clouds started rolling in at the end of their engagement session, we were looking for a way to highlight the beautiful mountains that surround Harrisonburg. We luckily found an empty parking garage with the perfect rooftop overlook to snag a few final portraits with their dog!
