After years of dating, Sean begin planning the perfect proposal for his girlfriend Katelyn without her investigation skills getting in the way. This multi layer proposal involved a fake brunch invitation, coordinating with the garden staff, family road trips from across the east coast, and a few innocent white lies! Kaitlyn’s morning started with what she thought would be a brunch event at the Lewis Ginter Botanical gardens, but ended with a few extra special surprises.

I am always 10x more nervous when I have to interact with the couples before their proposal. I was especially on edge because Kaitlyn and I have mutual friends which increased the risk of her recognizing me and derailing the whole plan. Thank goodness for masks! Seans and Kaitlyn’s friends had planed a FAKE brunch event to attend as a group and I was set in place as the event photographer to grab some “marketing” shots. As soon as we started taking photos, Sean looked at Kaitlyn and let her in on the lie. The moment he reached for his pocket she instantly knew what was happening. She has such a perfect reaction as she started to realize all of the layers of deception that went into this day!

The morning ended with one final surprise as we walked into the banquet hall, Kaitlyn and Sean were greeted by their closest friend and family!
