One of my most special engagement sessions of the year. The foggy lakeside engagement with Kate and Conner in the outskirts of Richmond was the perfect intimate way to celebrate their engagement. The resilience award of the year goes to this incredible couple. With their wedding over a year away we started to plan their engagement session when Kate was unexpectedly diagnosed with Cancer. With starting treatment right away, we moved up their session to document a few special portraits before her hair was effected by chemo treatments.
When I first met Kate and Conner they were guests at another wedding I was working. When Kate approached me on the dance floor to share that she had been following me for years and even though she wasn’t engaged yet she knew she needed me to be her wedding photographer. From that point on we were INSTANT friends and started our social media stalking from afar!
Kate positive attitude is truly infection and the beautiful light through the most challenging year! During the session she was excitedly ready to embrace her bald era and fun wigs she is going to pull out during their wedding reception. Even showing off her surgical scar and fun outfit change at the end. The connection between Kate and Conner is so obvious, full of laughter, and love with rock solid support system through the crazy changes that they are facing in their engagement year.
I’m so so so thankful to call these two friends and be able to document so many fun milestone moments coming up!!
