Since I moved to Richmond last summer, I have been hoping to connect with a few more amazing local couples. From the first moment I talked to Monika and Wes on the phone, I knew that our personalities were totally in sync and they would be a blast to work with! 

When they first inquired for their wedding date, I was already booked with another wedding….but after all of the crazy rescheduling and shuffling from 2020, I had a last minute opening to photograph their wedding day! When we met for their engagement session at Belle Isle in Richmond, we had such a blast hiking the trail and sneaking into a few secluded fields to capture some amazing sunset portraits! As we made our way to the river for the end of their shoot, Monika said… “this might be a weird request but can we get in the water” UMMM DUH! Keep in mind this was December in Virginia, so the water was not exactly feeling tropical… Monika and Wes spent the last few moments of their session playing in the river to capture a few of my favorite shots from the day! 

Over the last few months I have realized just how many mutual friends and random connections we have! Not to mention the incredible hand crafted Christmas Ornament that Wes helped me design for my family. I am seriously so thankful to have met these two, and can not wait for their wedding day this summer!
