I have traveled to DC for more photoshoots this year than ever before! It has been such a gorgeous change of scenery from the vineyards and rolling hills and get to photograph more classic architecture! My session with Darcy and Chris was no exception! By the time we finally met in person, we had multiple phone calls/video chats and wedding planning emails, so we felt like old friends! The only member of the crew I had never met was Drake! I knew it was going to take some coaxing to get this 7 year old bundle of energy on board for a morning in front of the camera! To my pleasant surprise he was a superstar! Every smiling pictures was balanced with a 10 second dance break and teaching him how to use my camera! Seriously this growing family couldn’t be any cuter, just wait until you see their outfits… ON POINT! 

Another highlight from their session was having my first photoshoot at the National Gallery of Art! I am typically a natural light only gal! I always try to urge my clients against picking indoor locations but this might be the exception! The gorgeous architecture, floor to ceiling windows and incredible shadows made for such a moody and elegant change!
