Yes I know its officially March, but January is a time warp and February is a short month.. so thats my excuse for waiting SOOO long to publish this post! I am so excited to share a few of my favorite images from the past years wedding season! Thank you so much to all of these couples who trusted me to walk alongside them during such an incredible day in their lives!

First up! An intimate bridal session with the stunning Mary Shea! She wore two sentimental dresses during her wedding day and wanted to make sure she had plenty of images to honor them! The first is her Culebra, Island gown. She purchased this dress for her original, tropical destination wedding plan! Sadly hurricane season devastated the island and left her scrambling for a new stateside venue! This is where her second dress comes in. With the switch to a more traditional church wedding and elegant reception she decided to recreate her gown using her mothers wedding dress as a base! Check them out below!

LAUREN & JOHN: King Family Vineyard

My first of many wedding this year at King Family Vineyard featured Lauren and John, a fun loving military couple who has waited years to put together their dream wedding! This intimate family wedding was filled with blush accents, fresh pressed uniforms, and the most touching first look! I am so excited to be able to share in a small part of their story.

JOHN & MELISSA: Wisdom Oak Winery

John and Melissa’s wedding day was filled with so may heartfelt moments! Their venue Wisdom Oak winery is only about 15 minutes from my house, so throughout the last few months of venue scouting, engagement photos, and wine tastings, it has become one of my favorite spots in town! It was amazing to see these two families effortlessly blend together, , their ceremony and reception were so filled with love, laughter, and a true understanding of their story!

MARY SHEA & NICK: Eastern Shore Wedding

Over the past year I have done 5 photoshoots with Nick and Mary Shea, engagement pics, puppy photoshoots, bachelorette parities, bridal portraits…  lets just say they are seasoned pros in front of the camera! I have know Mary Shea and Nick for the last 3 years and was so fortunate to get to experience their wedding day as a photographer and a guest! Their Eastern Shore wedding was the perfect mix of elegant details, hand crafted items, and sentimental family touches. I loved every minute of this day and am so excited to share some of the highlights below!

SHELLY MILKS (LITWILER): Boars Head Bridal Session

This golden hour bridal session was so special to me! Shelly and I attended College together as Field Hockey teammates, roommates, margarita buddies, and everything in between! In college I was constantly doing my teammates hair and makeup when we went out and this was just another excuse to get dolled up! Shelly and I had so much fun getting to play dress up in her full wedding! Don’t let the sun fool you this session was taken on a CHILLY spring day, and we had to take breaks to wrap up in a blanket between locations! Shelly was a champ.. as usual and I am so thankful to have been a part of this amazing time in my best friends life!

ALI & BRYAN: Meriweather Springs Vineyard

Ali and Bryans wedding day was the perfect way to close out a jam packed spring and summer of photoshoots! This might have been the most relaxed Ive ever felt on a wedding day! Most wedding days are filled with unpredictable weather, last minute time changes, and all sorts of shuffling going on behind the scenes, but this day was different! The combination of Bryan and Ali’s laid back personalities, and their families pitching in with setting up the details made for the perfect wedding day!

ALEXIS & GEOFFREY: Keswick Vineyard
Alexis and Geoff’s wedding day was filled with so much love… From their large extended families, and the support of all of their parents, the morning was buzzing with anticipation and joy that this day was finally here! Im typically very composed and focused on wedding days but on Saturday I got choked up more than once! Alexis was overflowing with love….she just kept repeating “ I have never been this happy, I feel like my heart is going to burst”. You could tell that she was marrying her best friend! Geoff is her number one support system and encourager and she fills the same role for him. Watching these two laugh, and love on each other during their reception was so special. It didn’t matter they were surrounded by 100s of people, they were completely in the moment with each other.. I am so thankful I was able to capture their incredible wedding day.
MADIE & MICHAEL: Wolftrap Farm
Let me start off by saying Madie & Michael are my kind of couple! They love dogs, drinking wine, and have been friends for over 10 years! Their wedding day was full of ALL THE THINGS they love, and a stunning view of the Virginia country side. I loved getting to hang out with their family all day and see the mix of traditional and unique elements they included in their wedding! Music has always been a  HUGE part of their relationship. Madie has worked in the music industry as well as growing up in a family who gave her a top notch musical education! And Michael and his friends are in a band together and were able to personalize the ceremony music, and first dance songs by having his friends perform live!
RACHEL & RYAN: King Family Wedding
This destination couple, choose Charlottesville as the perfect spot to blend their two families! Let me just start by saying, Rachel is a BA bride! She rolled her ankle 2 days before the wedding to the point that she couldn’t even put her swollen foot in her heels….Instead she rocked some white floral keds and didn’t let it slow down her wedding day! Their wedding featured the most touching and hilarious speeches, beautiful details and a dreamy wintery mountain side. Although the rain and fog covered most of the vineyard. Rachel and Ryan were happy as can be to finally celebrate their marriage along with all of the family and friends who traveled from out of town!
When I started 2018, I had NO CLUE what was in store for my business, how many amazing couples I would gain as friends, how many vows I would witness,  all of the wonderful tear jerking moments or dance offs on the reception floor! I have so many big ideas for 2019 that I can’t wait to dive in!
